Installation Guide
- Install the 4353 into a communication slot in the Tricon chassis.
- Connect primary and backup Ethernet cables to the two RJ-45 ports. Note that NET 2 supports 100 Mbps only.
- Configure IP addresses, subnet masks, and protocol settings in TriStation 1131.
- For Modbus TCP/IP: configure the 4353 as Master or Slave, map holding registers and coil addresses to Tricon internal variables.
- For OPC: enable the embedded OPC server and configure DCOM security settings for client connections.
- For redundant time synchronization: configure both TCM modules (left and right slots) if installed in a redundant network.
- Verify redundant path failover by disconnecting the primary Ethernet cable and confirming automatic switchover.
FAQ
Q: What is the difference between 4353 and 4352B?
A: The 4353 has copper Ethernet only (2× RJ45, NET 2 fixed at 100 Mbps) and includes an embedded OPC server. The 4352B adds dual fiber Ethernet (MT-RJ) but does not include OPC. Choose 4353 for OPC integration over copper; choose 4352B for fiber-optic networks. Note: 4353 and 4352B cannot be mixed
