The F8652X (Part Number F 8652X) serves as the primary intelligence for HIMA H41q safety systems. The module utilizes a multi-processor architecture featuring dual Intel 386EX 32-bit chips running at 25 MHz. This redundant design ensures that all safety-related logic is executed with 100% diagnostic coverage. The operating system, user program, and data storage are partitioned into distinct 1 MB Flash-EPROM and SRAM segments per processor to maintain data integrity and prevent cross-corruption.
As a central component of a Safety Instrumented System (SIS), the F8652X is built to trigger a safe state immediately upon detecting an internal or external fault. The onboard safety-related watchdog provides a 24 V output (up to 500 mA) capable of de-energizing critical loops during a system failure. This ensures that the plant reaches a predetermined safe state, fulfilling the requirements of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
